Spotted Dove

Spilopelia chinensis ceylonensis is a Sri Lankan subspecies of the spotted dove (Spilopelia chinensis) characterised by a rosy hue on the underside and brown-grey feathers on its wings. Spotted doves are typically found in pairs or small flocks and consume a diet of seeds, grains, and fruits. During the breeding season, both parents are involved in building the nest, incubating the eggs, and feeding the young.
