Grey Slender Loris

The grey slender loris (Loris lydekkerianus) is a solitary, nocturnal, and arboreal primate with a small greyish body and large eyes. The Sri Lankan subspecies (Loris lydekkerianus grandis) has a heart-shaped face and smaller ears than the nominate. Though primarily insectivorous, they also feed on fruits and small vertebrates, their slow movements allowing them to approach prey quietly. During the breeding season, the mother typically gives birth to a single baby, although twins have been reported. The baby is carried under the mothers abdomen or on the back for about two months before they begin to forage independently.
