Spectacled Cobra

The spectacled cobra (Naja naja), also known as the Indian cobra, is a venomous snake species native to the Indian subcontinent. It can be identified by its large hood, which features two dorsal eyespots. This species inhabits a wide range of environments, including forests, plains, agricultural areas, wetlands, and urban settings. The spectacled cobra primarily feeds on rodents, frogs, and lizards, subduing its prey with venom before consuming it whole. The venom paralyzes the victim and can lead to respiratory failure and cardiac arrest.
